Penn State Receives 2025 Commitment From Pittsburgh Cornerback

In this story:
A day after signing two players from Pittsburgh Central Catholic in its 2024 recruiting class, Penn State returned to the school for 2025. Xxavier Thomas, a cornerback at Central Catholic, committed to the 2025 Penn State football recruiting class. Thomas announced his decision on social media, one that Penn State assistant coach Terry Smith foreshadowed on Wednesday.
"We're going to have some news here tomorrow from another kid from Central Catholic," Smith told reporters in State College at Penn State's Signing Day event. "Just excited to keep building a relationship. It's a school that we have to recruit. They're loaded."
Thomas (5-10, 160) is unrated so far by the major recruiting services but a rising prospect in the 2025 class. He will join teammates Peter Gonzalez and Anthony Speca, who signed with Penn State's 2024 class Wednesday. Both Gonzalez and Speca will enroll following their senior years at Central Catholic.
"They have a lot of young talent," Smith said of Central Catholic. "Sure, we're going to keep tapping into that talent. I'm excited to have a new coach [at Central Catholic] that's doing a great job there. And we're just going to keep recruiting Central Catholic guys. They're smart, they're intelligent, they're patient, and they know what they want."
Thomas' brother Rodney II, also a Central Catholic graduate, is in his second season with the Indianapolis Colts. Rodney Thomas, a safety, played at Yale, which also offered Xxavier Thomas.
Thomas is the seventh player to commit to Penn State's 2025 recruiting class, which ranks eighth nationally according to the 247Sports Composite.
After an amazing and memorable recruitment process, I’m excited to announce that I am 100% committed‼️ ⚪️🔵🦁 #WEARE@coachjfranklin @CoachTerryPSU @ZemaitisTouch_ pic.twitter.com/H89ZpC3KAq
