Aydin Henningham, Solomon DeShields Talk Open Competition with Pitt Football LBs

Aydin Henningham and Solomon DeShields talked about why they feel the Pitt Panthers are deep at linebacker.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers lost four productive players from last year's deep linebacker corps. As some of the players tasked with replacing all the tackles, sacks and interceptions that left with those graduates and transfers, Aydin Henningham and Solomon DeShields talked about how they're work through camp so far and what they've seen from the group as a whole.

Both think the group is deeper than it's being given credit for but there is a reason for hesitancy. The turnover has meant that unproven players will be tasked with taking the highest volume of snaps and the rotations have not yet been set.

Linebackers coach Ryan Manalac said last Friday that players have been moving around to different positions during training camp but he expects them to settle in to more defined roles as the season opener approaches.
