Transfer QB Kedon Slovis Feels Welcome With Pitt Football
PITTSBURGH -- The quarterback position is solitary. Only one signal-caller can play at a time, which often makes competition for the top of the depth chart a lonely endeavor. But even with a position battle looming, transfer Kedon Slovis has said he's felt welcomed by everyone within the Pitt Panthers program - even his competition, Nick Patti.
'[Patti] sent me a text right away,' The newly minted Pitt quarterback, Slovis said on Monday. 'I met him the first day I was in the building and he's been awesome. ... I've been in other situations where it's definitely been awkward but that's not really the situation here.'
Slovis added that it doesn't feel much like a competition yet. He and Patti have been 'collaborating' during the frequent downtime of spring and summer. They pick each other's brains and have found that they often see things in a similar way.
While these two Pitt quarterbacks will have to duke it out in training camp, they claim not to be letting that fact get between them.
