Pitt WR Jordan Addison Earns Prestigious Award

While the former Pittsburgh Panthers QB lit up the NFL Combine, his top collegiate targets was also being recognized.

This past week, former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett put on a show at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

While many were enamored with his performance both on and off the field, some media members still achieved a way to bring him down regarding his hand size.

A person who does not have any qualms about Pickett's hand size is current Panthers wide receiver Jordan Addison.

The AP All-American duo connected for 1,593 yards of receiving in 2021 and averaged a lofty 15.9 connection on each play.

While Kenny has garnered plenty of attention in recent weeks, this past Saturday was Jordan Addison's time to steal the limelight. The Panther wide receiver was named the winner of the 2021 Biletnikoff Award.

This award goes to college football's best wide-out, and Addison, without a shadow of a doubt, put up incredible numbers for Pat Narduzzi's squad in 2021.

All this while beating out the likes of Alabama's Jameson Williams and Purdue's David Bell, who will be top 100 picks in April's NFL Draft.

On top of being dominant against press coverage, the Frederick, Maryland native hauled in the most touchdowns (17) in the ACC since Deandre Hopkins (18) did for Clemson in 2012.

Furthermore, he caught the most passes in a single season in Panther history (100) while also leading the school to its first ACC Championship in football.

In regards to what comes next for the standout receiver and new offensive coaching staff, he offered the following statement:

"It's not a negative thing. (regarding multiple coaches) I look at it like I've had three great coaches I could learn from and keep looking at my time with a positive mindset. The relationship we're all building with (Former NFL player-now Panthers WR Coach Tiquan Underwood) is pretty good. He's a player's person and understands how to play the position in the NFL. I feel like he was a pretty good pickup."

Although Pickett departs, former USC Trojans quarterback Kedon Slovis is at the helm in Pittsburgh, PA, and the two are already beginning to develop chemistry in spring practices, according to Jordan:

We're working routes on air and then taking time after practice to get our timing down. We put in a lot of work during the offseason and now we just keep taking it step by step."

While there are new beginnings at the UPMC Sports Performance Complex, next season is perhaps just the next step in Jordan Addison's already promising football career.
