Saints Cut Former Pitt TE After Dominant Preseason

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Lucas Krull was dominant during the preseason, becoming a prized target for New Orleans Saints quarterbacks over his two game appearances this August.
But despite his strong summer, the former Florida and Pitt tight end, Krull was released by the Saints this week as they trimmed their roster down from 90 to 53 players, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston, Texas.

Krull concluded a strong preseason as the Saints' most-targeted receiver with a seven-catch, 106-yard performance against the Texans. Despite playing in just two preseason games, he hauled in 10 of 23 total targets for 136 total yards.
Krull spent two years in Pittsburgh and played the full season just once but was a valuable part of the Panthers' 2021 ACC Championship squad. He caught 38 passes for 451 yards and six touchdowns, the most scores by a Pitt tight end since Dorin Dickinson's 10 in 2009.
