Former Pitt LB Back at Bucs Practice

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers linebacker SirVocea Dennis emerged a little banged up from his first preseason action but was back on the field this week.
What had been just soreness, according to head coach Todd Bowles, turned into almost two weeks on the sidelines for the Buccaneers' 2023 fifth-round pick. But he was back in uniform and practicing ahead of the preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens.

Dennis, a three-time All-ACC selection who led Pitt in tackling each of the past three seasons, played and started in the Buccaneers' preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording one tackle in the loss.
He has put together a good camp so far and was listed as a backup on the Buccaneers' initial depth chart of the preseason which was released earlier in training camp.
Tampa Bay drafted two Panthers this spring and both have spent time sidelined with injuries. First-round pick Calijah Kancey has a confirmed calf injury that is expected to keep him out for a little longer, but he should be ready well before the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
