Tiquan Underwood Says This is What Surprised Him Most About Pitt WRs

The Pitt stars aren't what caught his attention the most.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have one of the most talented group of wide receivers in the NCAA. Led by 2021 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison, the group is poised for another great season, this time under new wideout coach Tiquan Underwood.

Underwood is three weeks into spring practices with his new group of receivers and said he noticed quick what stood out about them.

"I would say how tight they are. In normal wide receiver rooms it's very competitive," Underwood said. "Never enough balls to go around. Never enough reps to go around. They're very very tight. You can just tell that even off the field they hang together, they spend time together. They're always in the building, always in the receiving room. ... I just like the fact that it's a tight-knit group."

Underwood is already impressed with Addison's play on the field, and his ability to lead. The WR coach said the junior leads by example, and players watch.

He's not the only player making noise, though. Sophomore Jaden Bradley has caught Underwood's eye very early on.

"I love that kid. He has so much energy," Underwood said. "He loves football, loves to compete, and he's doing very very well. The entire group really. Sometimes it could be hard to play fast and play football when you're learning, but now that they're grasping the offense, they're doing a tremendous job and Bradley is doing a tremendous job for sure."
