Damar Hamlin Embraces Special Moment vs Steelers

The Pitt Panthers star hit a special milestone in his journey back to the field.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers safety Damar Hamlin returned to the Steel City for the first time since suffering cardiac arrest last season. And as he entered the stadium with his fellow Buffalo Bills teammates, he took a moment to embrace his hometown.

The McKees Rock native is suiting up for his first game as a Pro inside Acrisure Stadium. He spoke about the return earlier in the week, saying how special of a moment it will be when he enters the field.

"I’m going to see my entire family. I’m going to see my entire city," Hamlin told Buffalo media. "I think it will probably be electric down there. I can’t wait."

He made sure to really take in those first steps onto the turf.

Hamlin will play just his second game since suffering cardiac arrest on the field in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The former Pitt Panther has been the center of attention since, and his remarkable journey back to the field will add a special milestone as he plays the Steelers.
