Pitt Basketball Hosting Big-Time Transfer

The Pitt Panthers are looking to land a 6'7" sophomore with strong impacts on both sides of the court.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are hosting High Point transfer Zack Austin for a visit, according to Basketball Recruiting's Travis Graf.

Austin headed to the transfer portal as a 6'7 sophomore, playing 61 games over the last two seasons for High Point and averaging 14.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 blocks per game. The small forward also shot 33.5% from three during his time with the Panthers.

"Panthers fans should be excited about the possibility of this addition, as Austin is one of the more underrated players in the transfer portal. One of the main reasons for this is his ability to play both ways. He’s a very athletic, versatile defender that guards multiple positions," Graf writes.

Pitt has yet to land any recruits from the portal this season after seeing a ton of success from transfers last year. So far, they've lost two players in John Hugley and Nate Santos, but could replace the two forwards with Austin.
