Three-Star OL Moritz Schmoranzer Commits to Pitt

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers got off to a rough start this week on the recruiting front, with a pair of four-star targets in Koy Beasley and Dominic Kirks picking other schools. But/And the tail end of the week brought some good news/more of the same.
After naming a final four of Pitt, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Miami, Schmoranzer announced that he would be joining the Panthers in their 2024 recruiting class.
Schmoranzer took official visits to each school in his final four this month and announced that he would commit on June 30. He has a relationship with fellow 2024 Pitt offensive line target Ryan Howerton, who said the two would be a "package deal". Howerton, a four-star prospect, also visited the Panthers last weekend.
The 6'4 and 280-pound prospect is rated as a three-star pso by both 247Sports and Rivals. He is ranked as high as the No. 15 player in Virginia (Rivals) and the No. 44 offensive tackle in the class of 2024.
He cut an offer sheet that included Virginia, Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Westigerna and Old Dominion down to those four schools.
