In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Trever Jackson could be the Pitt Panthers' quarterback of the future and his stock continues to rise as he zeroes in on a college decision.

Days after he released a top five that included Pitt, Jackson learned that he had been invited to the Elite 11 Finals, an event that brings some of the top high school quarterbacks in the country together for three days of competition with each other and instruction from former college and professional signal callers.

The date and location of the Elite 11 Finals has yet to be announced but it typically takes place in midsummer.

247Sports has the 6'2, 185-pound West Orange High School product, Jackson pegged as the No. 82 player in Florida's 2024 class and the No. 41 quarterback in the class. On3, Rivals and 247Sports all rate him as a three-star. Jackson holds offers from Florida Atlantic, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Akron, Indiana, Appalachian State and UMass and had received interest from Ohio State, Florida State, UCF and Miami. Jackson's top five included Pitt alongside Indiana, Tulane, Appalachian State and Florida Atlantic.

The Panthers expected to have an Elite 11 finalist on campus this spring but that was before four-star 2023 prospect Kenny Minchey decommitted in the middle of the season and chose Notre Dame after reopening his recruitment.
