South Carolina Men's Basketball Coach Lamont Paris spoke with the media Wednesday afternoon prior to his Thursday matchup against Oregon.

South Carolina got their names called Sunday and were selected as a sixth seed in the big dance, making the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2017. As the Gamecocks prepared and practiced for the first-round game against the Oregon Ducks, Lamont Paris had a chance to speak with the media and one of the first topics of conversation was Collin Murray-Boyles growth:

Well, there's growth and then there's, whatever the word you would use, metamorphosis possibly, sometimes you go into a cocoon, and you look like a worm and then you come out and look like a butterfly or a moth. That to me is metamorphosis which is another whole level of growth and that's what Collin has done... he was out there just trying to affect the game as a rebounder and an active player, now we run some offense through him.

Coach Paris was then asked now that he's watched some Oregon tape is there anything that stands out to coach Paris:

They're really talented, you want to talk about growth they've had a lot of growth as a team due to injury and what not they've had a lot of different lineups and guys in and out. If you look at the history of Dana Altman's teams this is the time that they put it together and they've done that once again. It's a very versatile team, they can score in a Varity of ways, they can beat you up on the inside and they also have some accomplished scorers on the perimeter.

One of the final topics was an update on both Ta'Lon Cooper and Myles Stute:

I think there's been good progress on behalf of each of those guys. I think Myles Stute, his injury is a little more significant in that he had to miss some game time, but he's made good progress. I expect him to be available at some level, well see what that looks like in terms of what percentage of his usual self he his... Ta'Lon is at a pretty high percentage of full health and he'll be ready to go.
