Zia Cooke was arguably one of the major catalysts for South Carolina winning 42 straight games from the 2022 NCAA Tournament all the way to the Final Four this past season. Cooke took her game to new heights on both ends of the floor, especially on the offensive end, as she gained more confidence in her three point shot, and became an even more dangerous threat at the rim.

With her improvements as a senior, Cooke has witnessed her stock shoot up on multiple draft boards in the face of questions surrounding her height and what position she could play at the next level. It's clear that the LA Sparks don't see any flaws to her championship résumé, as they drafted Zia with the tenth overall pick in the WNBA Draft tonight.

Zia becomes the third Gamecock drafted tonight with Aliyah Boston being drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever, and Laeticia Amihere being drafted eighth overall by the Atlanta Dream.
