Former Gamecock Bryan Edwards Signs with Saints

Former South Carolina Football star Bryan Edwards has signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints.

Former Gamecock Bryan Edwards is on the move, as he has signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints, per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. The wide receiver had previously played for the Atlanta Falcons, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.

Edwards appeared in seven games in 2022, totaling just three catches for 15 yards. Edwards had previously played with Saints Quarterback Derek Carr in Las Vegas, tallying 764 yards and four touchdowns over two years, making this a likely reason for the reunion in New Orleans.

In terms of his career at South Carolina, Edwards is revered as one of the best receivers in school history, as in his four seasons of play, the receiver totaled over 3000 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. Edwards also holds the school record for the most career receptions with 234 and receiving yards with 3,045.

Edwards signing with the Saints is the latest transaction out of a string of moves that have involved former gridiron stars from South Carolina, with former players like Stephon Gilmore being traded to the Dallas Cowboys and Hayden Hurst signing a three-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.
