South Carolina Target Blake Franks Sets Commitment Date

South Carolina Football target Blake Franks has officially set the time and place for his college commitment.

Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football coaching staff have made recruiting the offensive and defensive lines a point of emphasis over the past year or so. After signing a phenomenal group of trenchmen in the 2023 cycle, the Gamecocks have carried their momentum to the 2024 recruiting class, landing a national-level prospect in Kam Pringle out of the Lowcountry back in late January.

Since that stretch which saw five different prospects commit to South Carolina, things have been quiet on the recruiting front, but based on some recent postings on Twitter, that could all change pretty soon. It was already reported this past weekend that Dillion's Josiah Thompson, who's considered a Gamecock lean, is set to announce his college decision on April 14th. Now, another in-state offensive line prospect in Blake Franks has also decided that he's ready to make his pledge, as WSPA7 sportscaster Pete Yannity reported on Twitter Monday morning that Franks will announce his commitment on Friday afternoon.

This was later confirmed by SportsTalk Media Network's Phil Kornblut, who added that the time for Franks' ceremony has been set for 3:45 pm and that Blake's decision will come down to either South Carolina or Clemson. This all comes after the month of February in which there seemed to be some back-and-forth as to whether or not Franks was ready to make an announcement, but for now, it seems like this announcement time will stick.
