2024 Five-Star DL Sets Visit to South Carolina
After wrapping up the 2023 recruiting class with the commitment of five-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor, South Carolina has refocused their recruiting strategy on the class of 2024 and has already made strides.
Shane Beamer and the rest of the Gamecocks' coaching staff have made it a point to recruit South Carolina's trenches. That point of emphasis is displayed through SC's pursuit of five-star DL Kamarion Franklin, who has set a visit date with the Gamecocks.
Franklin set visit dates with multiple schools this week, including Florida State, Ohio State, Miami, and more schools over the next two months. He has already visited Ole Miss, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Miami. Franklin set his visit date to Columbia for March 17th, the same day South Carolina is expected to host a myriad of other recruits, including RB Anthony Carrie.
Franklin, a native of Lake Cormorant, MS, is ranked as the 20th best player in the nation according to 247 Sports Consensus rankings. Landing the fourth-best DL in the nation would bolster South Carolina's impressive list of committed linemen, which includes standout 2024 OT Kam Pringle.
