BREAKING: Stanford Lands Commitment From 2025 Four-Star QB Bear Bachmeier

The Stanford Cardinal have had issues at the quarterback position over the past few seasons as they seemingly haven't gotten the most out of talented recruits.

In Troy Taylor's first season on the job, he received some serviceable snaps from both Ashton Daniels and Justin Lamson, but needed a definitive quarterback of the future. He landed four-star Elijah Brown in the 2024 class, and when it comes to their 2025 class he was able to win out over major programs for the services of four-star Bear Bachmeier.

The younger brother of current receiver, Tiger Bachmeier, announced his commitment on Monday after staffers hinted at a major commitment for the past week.

Bachmeier chose Stanford over programs like Oregon, Arkansas, Michigan State, Alabama, Colorado, and Michigan among others. He is the perfect quarterback for a Taylor offense, as he has a rocket of an arm, and is also dangerous with his legs. Throughout his career, he has thrown for 5,500 yards and 47 touchdowns to 12 picks, while also adding over 1,200 rushing yards, and 25 rushing touchdowns.

When speaking to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Bachmeier revealed how much confidence he has in Taylor, expressing that he expects the Cardinal to be atop the ACC for years to come.

"Stanford is one of the top degrees in country," Bachmeier said to ESPN. "What Coach [Troy] Taylor's background is, I have full belief and confidence that Stanford football is on the rise and will start winning ACC championships and compete for national championships."

He also touched on how excited he is to team back up with his brother Tiger.

"It was a big influence," Bear said when talking about playing with his brother. "Him being there and getting first-hand experience through him to what really goes on. Also, it's going to be cool as hell when I'm throwing touchdowns to him."

Bachmeier will be donning the No. 47 when he gets to Palo Alto, which he explains is because he likes to have a "fullback mentality" when takes off and runs. He thinks his skillset is reminiscent of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

"I wouldn't want to get in front of me," Bachmeier said. "I think I play like Josh Allen. I'm a passer first but can tuck the ball and go get extra yards."

According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Bachmeier ranks as the No. 190 player in the country, No. 11 quarterback, and No. 18 player in the state of California. With his addition, he is the highest-ranked player in Stanford's 2025 class, which now ranks as the No. 26 class in the country.
