Stanford set to host five-star OT Andrew Babalola for visit

The Stanford Cardinal have emphasized rebuilding in the trenches under the new staff, and while they got some offensive linemen in 2024 they will look to add a handful more in 2025.

They already hold commitments from two in their 2025 class, and they may have a chance to land one of the best ones in the country. According to a recent On3 report, the Cardinal are expecting a visit from five-star Andrew Babalola.

The Overland Park, Kansas native is set to see Auburn, Michigan, Missouri, Texas A&M, USC, and Stanford this spring while also scheduling officials to Oklahoma and Tennessee. He told On3 that he is looking to cut down his list a bit, and soon, which means Stanford obviously needs to make a lasting impression to get an official.

“I have started the process and I am trimming my list down,” Babalola said in an interview with On3. “Some schools have started to stand out to me and I am getting to where I am narrowing it all down. My plan is to get to places this spring, then at the end of April, compare all the schools and decide on four schools I want to take my official visits to.”

According to On3, he ranks as the No. 20 player in the country, No. 4 offensive tackle, and No. 1 player in the state of Kansas. He is very raw as a prospect considering this past season was his first year starting due to the fact that when he was younger he was more so focused on basketball.

He is looking to fill out his 6-foot-5.5 frame, while also taking another major leap during his senior season. If Stanford were to land him, he'd be their sixth five-star offensive lineman in program history and the program's first five-star since 2017 when they landed quarterback Davis Mills, offensive linemen Foster Sarell and Walker Little, and tight end Colby Parkinson.
