WATCH: Troy Taylor awards linebacker Spencer Jorgensen with a scholarship

In this story:
One of the best traditions in college football is seeing a walk-on who has paid their own way through school just to play the sport they love be rewarded with a scholarship.
On Tuesday, Stanford linebacker and fifth-year senior Spencer Jorgensen was placed on scholarship by head coach Troy Taylor, who broke the news to him and the team in a meeting.

Taylor can be seen talking about how hard of a worker someone like Jorgensen is, and that it often doesn't get enough attention. He then let Jorgensen and the team know that the linebacker is on scholarship, which led to the whole entire team to rejoice.
In his four years at Stanford Jorgensen has played in 34 games, and has recorded 24 total tackles. He played in all 12 games this past season, and is expected to have a major role this next season for the Cardinal.
