Stanford flips Arizona commit Luke Ferrelli

Following the news that the Cardinal landed four-star offensive lineman on Tuesday, we also learned later in the day that they flipped Arizona commit Luke Ferrelli.
He originally committed to Arizona back in April, after taking an unofficial visit, but still had plans to see a few more schools. He took a trip to Texas A&M, and USC was also in the mix, but after taking an unofficial visit and partaking in a workout at Stanford this past Tuesday, he revealed that a few days later the Cardinal offered. Ferrelli explained in an interview with 247Sports that he hopped on a plane to take his official visit right away.
"Then I did a workout for them, did some one on ones and thought it went really well. A few days later, on Friday, I got a call from coach (Mark) D’Onofrio and he offered me a scholarship. I jumped on a plane that same day and took my official visit this past weekend.”
The visit was everything and more than he imagined, and quickly convinced him that Stanford was where he needed to be.
“I mean it’s Stanford, it’s an incredible opportunity,” Ferrelli said. “From a football standpoint, I really believe in this staff and I’m confident coach Taylor can turn the program around,
He continued saying:
“He has a great staff in place and I really like the overall scheme fit for me in the defense. They see me as an inside linebacker so I’ll work closely with coach D’Onofrio, who has a great reputation for developing linebackers and getting them to the League. Coach April has a great track record as well as a coach and I really like both guys a lot. ”
Ferrelli who ranks as a three-star linebacker adds to Stanford's class which has been ranked as high as No. 9 in the country thanks to their impressive June surge, which now consists of flipping recruits from programs such as Ole Miss, Baylor, and Arizona.
