Stanford receives commitment from 2024 safety Darrius Davis

In this story:
Stanford's secondary has been a point of emphasis in this 2024 recruiting class as they have landed a handful of commitments already.
After landing the Sierra Canyon (Ca) and Memphis products in the past few days, on Monday the Cardinal received yet another commitment from Louisiana native Darrius Davis.

The Archbishop Rummel product ranks as a three-star, and according to 247Sports is one of the top-25 players in the state. The Cardinal clearly loved Davis' performance this past year and may be early on the talented safety out of the boot.
Stanford is Davis' lone Power 5 offer, as he holds offers from other academic powers like Georgetown, Columbia, and Cornell among others. Gabe Brooks of 247Sports provided a thorough breakdown of what Davis brings to the table.
Davis excels playing forward. He's a solid tackler and he packs some pop behind his pads to occasionally deliver the big hit. His functional athleticism stands out on tape, and basketball participation enhances his athletic profile. That multi-sport marker is particularly valuable in Davis' case considering no verified combine testing data nor track numbers are available to better gauge his athleticism.
Stanford gets an intriguing, potentially role-versatile player in Davis. He plays with above-average anticipation, and he also has shown he can play above his listed size by walking up and fighting through much larger blockers to get to the ball in the run game. Watching how he develops and how he's used at the next level should be fun.
Including Davis, the Cardinal have now landed 13 commitments in the month of June with two four-stars joining the class on Tuesday in EDGE Naki Tuakoi, and EDGE Dylan Stephenson who currently comes in as the highest ranked recruit of the Troy Taylor era.
Stanford's recruiting class is already within the top-25 and should continue to ascend.
