On Tuesday Stanford pitcher Joey Dixon was one of the seven players that heard his name called, joining fellow pitchers Quinn Mathews and Ryan Bruno among others.

Dixon was selected with the No. 224 pick, after a season that saw earn an All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection. He compiled a 7-0 record with a 4.73 ERA through 21 appearances and 14 starts for the Cardinal as a junior. He also racked up 90 strikeouts, and held opponents to just a .235 batting average.
