Dariauna Lewis Turning Pro, Nyah Wilson Entering Transfer Portal

In this story:
Syracuse women's basketball is losing two players from its 2022-23 roster as guard Nyah Wilson and post Dariauna Lewis announced their decisions to head elsewhere. Lewis is turning pro and entering the WNBA Draft while Wilson is headed to the transfer portal.
Lewis had exhausted her eligibility this past season. She came to Syracuse after one year at Missouri State and three at Alabama A&M. During her lone season with the Orange, Lewis averaged 9.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
"I want to thank God for allowing me to go on this journey that I have been on for the last five years," Lewis said in a post on social media. "I have learned a lot from each institution that I have been to, and I will always cherish the relationships that I have built. Thank you, Mom for giving me the love and support I needed no matter the circumstances - I wouldn't have made it without you.
"To Missouri State - Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dream of playing college basketball.
"To Alabama A&M - Thank you to Coach Richards and staff for giving me a second chance. You helped me grow and pushed me to my limits. Bulldog Nation, it was a blast to play for you and the support was unreal. I will forever be a Bulldog!
"To Syracuse - Thank you Coach Jack and the coaching staff for giving me another opportunity to continue to play the sport that I love in my fifth year. Despite my unique college journey, you welcomed me with open arms and gave me a fair chance. Orange Nation fans are one of a kind. I appreciate all the love and support that you gave me this year and I will always remember this season.
"My journey doesn't end here. I have declared for the 2023 WNBA Draft and will continue my dream of playing basketball professionally."
Wilson played in 20 games this past season, averaging 1.6 points in 5.7 minutes per game. She has two years of eligibility remaining.
"First and foremost, I would like to say I'm grateful for my time at Syracuse University," Wilson said in a post on social media. "Throughout my first 2 years, I faced a lot of obstacles that were out of my control. Now it's time for me to put myself first, and do what's best for me.
"Although things didn't play out as I initially imagined when I came to SU as an incoming freshman, I have never questioned the outcome and kept pushing through. With God and my family, I've made it through a trying 2 years and persevered. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to officially enter the transfer portal.
"With the guidance of God and my family, I'm looking forward to being recruited and finding a coaching staff who wants to get to know me, believes in me, and will develop me on and off the court. I want my next coaching staff to have confidence in me and show me through their actions."
