Dyaisha Fair & Georgia Woolley Highlights vs North Carolina

Syracuse women's basketball's dynamic duo leads the Orange to victory.

Syracuse women's basketball picked up a much needed win for its NCAA Tournament hopes Thursday night by beating the 14th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 75-67 inside the JMA Wireless Dome. It was the Orange's first win over a ranked opponent this season and significantly improves its NCAA Tournament resume.

Instrumental in that victory were Syracuse's dynamic duo of Dyaisha Fair and Georgia Woolley. Despite only scoring 12 combined points in the first, the two were nearly unstoppable in the second half leading the Orange to the critical win.

Fair and Woolley combined for 43 points (31 in the second half) on 14-30 shooting including 7-16 from beyond the arc. In addition, the two combined for nine assists, eight rebounds and seven steals. They were also 8-9 from the free throw line. You can watch highlights of their performance in the video at the top of the page.

Trailing by two at halftime, Syracuse dominated the third quarter and then cruised to victory in the fourth. A 16-2 run turned a three point deficit into an 11 point lead, which turned out to be enough of a cushion as the Tar Heels did not seriously threaten from that point.

During the run, Woolley scored eight points while Fair added four. Together, they scored 12 of the Orange's 16 points in the spurt.
