In this story:

GAME RECAP
Syracuse women's basketball blew out Pittsburgh 85-55 on the road to end the regular season on a two game winning streak. With the victory, the Orange improved to 18-11 (9-9) on the season. Next up is the ACC Tournament, which begins next Wednesday. Syracuse is locked into the 8/9 game against NC State. If the Wolfpack wins at least one of its final two games, Syracuse will be the nine seed in that game. If NC State loses both, the Orange will be the eight seed.
Dyaisha Fair led the way for Syracuse once again, scoring 23 points on 8-12 shooting including 7-10 from three point range to go along with six assists. She was the best player on the floor all night and Pitt had no answer to stop her from scoring. Teisha Hyman (12), Saniaa Wilson (12) and Asia Strong (10) were also in double figures. Hyman added six rebounds, four assists and four steals to her 12 points. Dariauna Lewis led the Orange with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Syracuse got what it wanted for most of the night, shooting over 53% from the field and making 11 three pointers. The Orange also dominated the boards 40-24, forced 20 Pittsburgh turnovers and held the Panthers to under 39% shooting.
All season, Syracuse has struggled in fourth quarters. It gave away a nine point lead at home to NC State and suffered other close losses to ranked teams after leading at the end of three. The last two games, however, has reversed that trend.
Against Miami on Sunday, the Orange entered the fourth leading by nine and won by that same margin. Against Pitt Thursday night, Syracuse led by 18 entering the fourth and doubled up the Panthers 24-12 in that final quarter. An encouraging sign heading into postseason play.
In the latest ESPN women's bracketology, Syracuse is among the last four teams in. A win over NC State in the ACC Tournament would put the Orange in a strong position. A loss would mean Syracuse has to sweat it out even more. Two wins would all but seal the bid, but it would mean upsetting the top seed (either Duke or Notre Dame).
