Syracuse enters the 2022-23 season after the program underwent a tremendous amount of change in the offseason. After moving on from longtime head coach Quentin Hillsman, Syracuse hired alum Felisha Legette-Jack to return the program to prominence. Legette-Jack is one of the all-time great players in Syracuse women's basketball history and an accomplished, experienced head coach. She turned Buffalo into a MAC power and a regular NCAA Tournament team that gave high major programs a lot of trouble. In addition to the change in coaching staff, the roster turned over quite a bit as well. Several players left the program due to the change while Legette-Jack brought in several transfers to replace them including a few from her former program at Buffalo. Despite battling through injuries and significant roster turnover, Legette-Jack made history. She became the first head coach of the Orange women's basketball team to make the postseason in her first year.
Seton Hall has been up and down all season. The Pirates lost home games to Ivy League schools Princeton and Columbia, but won neutral court games against Wisconsin and Georgia as well as a win over a ranked Marquette squad. Seton Hall also lost to below .500 teams in Georgetown and Butler. The Pirates are led by guard Lauren Park-Lane, who averages 20.7 points and 6.3 assists per game. However, she shoots just 39.6% from the floor and 28.5% from beyond the arc. Center Sidney Cooks is 6-4 and averages 15.7 points along with 5.9 rebounds per game but does spend time on the perimeter. She is shooting 43.8% from three point range and is second on the team in attempts and makes from deep. No one else on the team averages double figures in scoring.

EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years. Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.
