Syracuse basketball put together its most complete performance of the season with a dominant 80-57 victory over LSU in the JMA Wireless Dome Tuesday night. It was the Orange's first ACC/SEC Challenge game and the victory improved Syracuse to 5-2 on the season. Next up is Syracuse's first ACC game of the season, at Virginia on Saturday, December 2nd.

Judah Mintz scored a career high 33 points including a perfect 2-2 from three point range to go along with four assists and two steals as he paced the Orange's offensive attack. Chris Bell added 20 points with six three pointers.

The Syracuse defense was stifling all night, holding LSU under 40% shooting and just 2-22 from three point range while forcing 19 Tigers' turnovers. The Orange also won the rebounding battle 43-36.

The Syracuse offense was just as bad in the first half, scoring just 33 points and shooting 28% from the floor. Things turned around quite a bit in the second half, as the Orange hit 50% of its shots overall and 62% of its three point attempts. That led to 47 second half points as Syracuse ran away from the Tigers.

Syracuse started the second half on an 10-2 run, all scored by Mintz, to push the lead to double digits. LSU would not get closer than eight the rest of the way. A 16-1 run after the lead was trimmed to eight grew the advantage to 20 and the Orange would cruise the rest of the way.
