Syracuse starting right tackle David Wohlabaugh is out for the remainder of the season, head coach Dino Babers said during his weekly radio show Thursday night. Wohlabaugh started each of the first two games before suffering an injury in the second quarter of the week two win over Western Michigan. Wohlabaugh could not put any pressure on his leg and needed crutches to get to the locker room.

Immediately following the game, Babers said Wohlabaugh would "not be out there for a while" for hoped they would get him back soon. We now know they will not.

During the same radio show, host Matt Park asked Babers about Oronde Gadsden's status and he did not have an update.

Wohlabaugh transferred in to Syracuse in the offseason from Kentucky, where he had started a couple of games for the Wildcats. The Orange lost both of its starting tackles from the 2022 squad and needed reinforcements. Wohlabaugh was one of several transfer or junior college offensive lineman added this offseason. He is also the son of former Syracuse offensive lineman Dave Wohlabaugh, who played several seasons in the NFL.

The Orange hits the road for the first time this season on Saturday, playing at Purdue. That game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern and will be broadcast on NBC.
