Irvington (NJ) High edge Jahide Lesaine has committed to Syracuse, he announced on social media. Lesaine was previously committed to Kent State, but flipped his decision after an official visit to Central New York. Other power five programs, including Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Rutgers had gotten involved recently, but the Orange's official visit sealed the deal.

Lesaine is a 6-4, 235 defensive end prospect. Lesaine is rated three stars by 247Sports and On3.

"He dominates the line of scrimmage every single week," Irvington head coach Smoke Pierre said. "Quick twitch kid that play with violence. ahide is long, rangy and can bend well. Has a knack for getting to the ball."

The addition of Lesaine brings Syracuse's 2024 recruiting class to 17 deep, but there is more expected movement before signing day. There are others who committed to the Babers staff who could go in another direction, while others who visited this past weekend could also join the class.

Lesaine is Syracuse's third commitment on Sunday following the first big official visit weekend of the Fran Brown era. Lesaine joins wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby, who flipped from Texas A&M, and four star running back Yasin Willis, who flipped from Pittsburgh. All three players are from New Jersey.
