Aggies Add Two Tough Non-Conference Matchups to 2023 Schedule

In this story:
The Texas A&M Aggies are leveling up their non-conference competition for 2023.
The Aggies are set to host the Memphis Tigers and play a neutral-site game with the Houston Cougars next season, per reports from college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.
A&M will play Memphis in College Station on Sunday, Dec. 10. The Aggies fell to the Tigers on the road last season, 83-79. The home-and-home series will now transition to Texas.
It's not official yet, but the Aggies and Cougars are looking to play on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The two sides are still finalizing the agreement, per Rothstein.
A&M is 32-52 against Houston in the all-time series. The most recent matchup came in Dec. 2013, as the Aggies won 74-57. They are currently on a three-game winning streak in the series.
Against Memphis, the Aggies are 6-10 in the all-time series, including last season's loss. Eight of 10 meetings in the series happened in 1955 through 1966. The 2023 matchup will mark the third meeting between the two teams this century.
The Aggies will be looking for two major wins in non-conference this time around after the latest matchup reveal. A&M went 10-7 in non-conference last season, as the team suffered some ugly losses against inferior competition before turning things into high gear in SEC play.
