Texas A&M Aggies Eye Key Addition as Transfer Portal Deadline Nears

In this story:
With over 1,000 athletes in the transfer portal and less than two weeks left to find a new home, the clock is ticking across the college basketball world.
This is certainly the case for the Texas A&M Aggies' newly acquired head coach, Bucky McMillan, who’s looking to make moves in the portal as he builds a roster that, as of now, features just one returning player.
According to Brandon Jenkins from 247Sports, the Aggies are one of the many teams in contact with Kansas State transfer guard Brendan Hausen. The former Wildcat spent his first two years at Villanova and transferred to Kansas State in the hopes of more playing time.

Hausen led the team in three-point shooting, knocking down nearly 40% of his attempts from deep. He ranked third in the Big 12 in total threes made and held the fourth-highest three-point percentage in the conference.
In 33 starts for the Wildcats, Hausen averaged 10.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game, while shooting 39% from the field.
The Amarillo native originally received an offer from Texas A&M during his 2022 recruitment cycle but opted for Villanova, where he averaged 4.7 points, 0.5 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in limited minutes.
A former four-star prospect, Hausen appears to be a strong fit for McMillan’s fast-paced, three-point-focused “BuckyBall” system.
With schools like Cincinnati, Gonzaga, Iowa, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, Virginia, and others in the mix, McMillan will need to invest time and resources if he hopes to land Hausen as the first piece of his A&M rebuild.
