Projecting the Aggies Bowl Location

COLLEGE STATION - With Texas A&M's victory over the weekend, the team became bowl eligible for the 11th consecutive season. While the Aggies still have three more games, it's never too early to begin looking at where the team could land next month in bowl projections.

It's impossible for A&M to represent the SEC in the College Football Playoff with even a 9-3 record. The committee would likely leave the conference out even if the Aggies were to win out and somehow represent the SEC West down in Atlanta.

Still, with three straight victories over South Carolina, Georgia and LSU, perhaps a New Year's Six Bowl could be in their favor. More than likely Alabama, Georgia or LSU will represent the conference come playoff time, meaning there could be two at-large bids for the SEC. The runner-up in the SEC Championship likely will play in the Sugar Bowl, but the other spot could be anyone's game.

Should the Aggies dominate in November and the Crimson Tide also defeat LSU, they could finish second in the SEC West. That would put them in line with potentially Auburn and Florida for an at-large bid. The Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Peach Bowl all could be destinations at the start of the new year.

More than likely, the team will not be in line for a New Years Six matchup. The next best thing would be a New Year's Day bowl. Those are for teams usually ranked inside the top 25 who barely missed the cut.

It's early, but several media outlets have projected where the Aggies will play for their final game of 2019. Here are their's and Aggie Maven's prediction on bowl season.
