Aggies Land 20th Transfer Commitment With Former Marshall EDGE Elijah Alston

The Texas A&M Aggies have added yet another commitment via the NCAA Transfer Portal with Marshall edge rusher Elijah Alston

At one point in the month of December, many Texas A&M Aggies fans were wondering how the team was going to put a roster on the field in 2024, with 23 players leaving via the NCAA Transfer Portal, plus losses to the NFL Draft piling up.

Among those names were key impact players as well, such as Walter Nolen, Evan Stewart, Ainias Smith, Edgerrin Cooper, Fadil Diggs, LT Overton and more.

However, over the last few weeks, the Aggies and new head coach Mike Elko have made some serious headway in replacing those losses. And on Monday, that continued, with Texas A&M landing a commitment from former Marshall Thundering Herd edge rusher, Elijah Alston.

Elijah Alston

Alston, who ranked as the No. 299 player in the portal and No. 24 defensive lineman, was a two-star recruit as a member of the 2019 class.

Over the last four seasons with the Thundering Herd, Alston played in 41 games, making 107 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks, with an interception he returned for a score.

In 2023 alone, Alston has a career year, amassing 11.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, 45 tackles and the interception.

He now joins an incoming transfer class that includes two other impact edges with the Big Ten's leading sack artist Nic Scourton from Purdue and former Florida pass rusher Scooby Williams.
