Aggies Crack Way-Too-Early Pre-Spring Top 25

The Texas A&M Aggies are starting to gain some notoriety after a significant offseason turnaround.

There has been a flurry of change in College Station over the last couple of months, with the Texas A&M Aggies, with a new head coach, a new athletic director, and massive turnover all over the roster

However, according to the pundits, the Aggies will still be a force to be reckoned with.

In the recent release of their way-to-early pre-spring Top 25, On3 Sports has high hopes for the Aggies, bringing them in at No. 23 in the nation, and No. 8 in the SEC.

Among the reasons for the high optimism surrounding new head coach Mike Elko and his program? First and foremost, their ability to reload their lost talent via the transfer portal.

Conner Weigman

In fact, according to 247 Sports, the Aggies transfer portal class ranks No. 2 in the nation behind only Ole Miss, led by instant impact additions such as Nic Scourton, Dezz Ricks, Cyrus Allen, Scooby Williams, Jaydon Hill and Tre Watson, among others.

Then of course, there is also the fact that the Aggies are returning arguably the best quarterback in the SEC in Connor Weigman, one of the nation's top running back duos in Le'veon Moss and Reuben Owens, and a talented offensive line led by Chase Bisontis.

Not to mention, the talented recruiting class that Elko was able to land in the 2024 cycle, which comes complete with multiple players who should see the field early and often next season.

Among those players, are top recruits such as Soloman Williams, Blake Ivy, Terry Bussey, Daelyn Evans, and Ashton Bethel-Roman - each of whom can help bolster positions of need from last season.

Combine that with the experienced talent on the roster, as well as the number of elite transfers coming in, and it is no wonder the Aggies are back to being considered a top-25 contender.
