It's another season of Aggies football under coach Jimbo Fisher which means it's another season with lofty expectations for a special year.

Last season was another disappointing finish for A&M as it struggled at key positions, especially at quarterback, and the focus for this year will be to improve on all fronts. And hopefully, the quarterback position will be solved by Conner Weigman.

The Aggies have another cushy Week 1 opponent with the New Mexico Lobos and hope to cash in during Week 2 against the Miami Hurricanes on Sept. 9. Last season, the Aggies beat Miami 17-9 during a Sept. 17 matchup at Kyle Field. But the Hurricanes are much improved from a season ago, and the A&M might have its hands full at Hard Rock Stadium.

2023 Miami Hurricanes

2022 Record: 5-7 (3-5 in ACC)

Head coach: Mario Cristobal

Cristobal enters his second year as the head coach of the Hurricanes.

Offensive Set: Pro Style

The inaugural season for the Miami Hurricanes under Cristobal didn't go as anticipated, but the team should be set for a rebound season in 2023. Shannon Dawson is now the new play-caller, and if quarterback Tyler Van Dyke can remain healthy, it will help boost an offense that scored an average of 23.6 points per game in 2022.

Defensive Set: 4-2-5

The defense, too, is under new leadership from Lance Guidry and is swimming with talent. Miami probably isn't ready to compete with Clemson or Florida State in the ACC but it is certainly capable of a winning season and a bowl game. Safety Kamren Kinchens is set to lead a group with some high-end talent. But potentially glaring holes remain.
