At one point, now-Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was seen as potentially being the savior of the Texas A&M Aggies football program. After committing to the Aggies in May of 2014, the former five-star became an immediate celebrity in College Station, and the pressure began to mount.

After all, he starred at Allen (TX) High School for four-straight seasons, going 42–0 record as the starter, with many thinking he could become the next coming of Johnny Manziel for the Aggies.

However, after a subpar freshman season under Kevin Sumlin, in which he completed 72 of 121 passes for 686 yards with five touchdowns and seven picks, Murray hit the transfer market, eventually ending up with the Oklahoma Sooners. And the rest was history, with Murray dominating the 2018 season, throwing for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns and winning the Heisman Trophy.

And when addressing a group of Sooner fans at the Oklahoma spring game on Saturday, Murray took a shot at the Aggies, labeling them as a mistake.

"This place means the world to me. I told everybody last night, I had a rocky start to my college career," Murray said to the crowd. "I chose the wrong school. "As soon as I stepped on campus, I texted my pops — I told him, 'I should've been here the whole time.'"

Following his time at Oklahoma, Murray would go on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, where he has since made two Pro Bowls, and also took home the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Meanwhile, the Aggies are still searching for their next great QB - something that rising sophomore Conner Weigman, hopes to be.
