Aggies in Contact With Baylor Transfer LJ Cryer

Top transfer guard LJ Cryer has been in contact with the Texas A&M Aggies

The Texas A&M Aggies have made multiple calls to players available in the transfer portal so far this offseason, but their most recent contact might be their biggest yet.

Per reports Wednesday from On3, Texas A&M is one of multiple schools that has reached out to Baylor Bears transfer guard LJ Cryer, who is arguably the best player currently in the portal.

It's no surprise that numerous other top programs have contacted him, including Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas State, Houston, Gonzaga, Texas and many more.

Despite missing 15 games of the 2021-22 season due to a foot injury, Cryer bounced back this past season and averaged 15 points, 2.1 rebounds and two assists per game while shooting an efficient 45.3 percent from the floor. He tied fellow guard Adam Flagler with a team-high 80 triples for the season.

In Baylor's 85-76 loss to the Creighton Bluejays in the Round of 32, Cryer went off for a season-high 30 points on 13 of 22 shooting, displaying his elite shot-making ability and comfort to score from almost any spot on the floor.

The Aggies are already set to return the likes of Wade Taylor IV, but will have to find a replacement for Tyrece Radford and Dexter Dennis, both of whom are moving on from the program.

And potentially adding one of the best guards in the country in Cryer would certainly make up for these losses. Should the Aggies land him, he would immediately become a starter while keeping the Aggies in SEC contention for another run at the NCAA Tournament with Buzz Williams
