Just In: Former Vol Justin Coleman To Be Released By the Lions

Despite missing last fall with an injury, Justin Coleman is still considered one of the top slot cornerbacks in the NFL, but it appears he is headed to free agency, according to a report from Tom Pelissero.
The #Lions plan to release CB Justin Coleman in the coming days, source said. One of the NFL's highest-paid slot corners heads back to the market," Pelissero wrote on Twitter.
Coleman signed a 4 year, $36,000,000 contract with the Detroit Lions, including a $10,145,000 signing bonus, $17,900,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $9,000,000. In 2021, Coleman will earn a base salary of $8,950,000 and a workout bonus of $50,000, while carrying a cap hit of $11,029,000 and a dead cap value of $6,087,000, according to SpotRac.com
In 11 games last fall, Coleman made 30 tackles for the Lions. He has intercepted four passes in his career. He will not likely remain on the market for long.
