Missouri Bests Tennessee, Ends Vols' SEC East Title Hopes

In this story:
It was a hard last thirty minutes for the Vols. They put together a strong first-half performance against Missouri, considering the snap count discrepancy, but things soured in the second half. The Tigers owned the ground, making big plays when it mattered and outlasting a usually sharp Tennessee football team.
The scoreboard reads a blowout loss for Tennessee, supported by the eye test. Quarterback Joe Milton III had the best day of any Tennessee Volunteer on either side and even he made a costly throw down the stretch that turned out to be a pick-6. This program had prided itself on complementary football this season, but they fell flat on Saturday.
Missouri exerted its will on a Tennessee team that looked out of sorts. Missouri running back Cody Schraeder went over 300 yards, only the second Missouri Tiger to do that in the school's history. Quarterback Brady Cook made plays with his feet and his arm, and they kept the sticks rolling all afternoon.
Tennessee doesn't have time to sit in its loss - they immediately must turn around and prepare to host the two-time defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs next weekend. It will be a challenging stretch for this team, and things didn't get off to the right start on Saturday.
