Reviewing Tennessee's NBA Summer League Performers

As the 2023 Las Vegas NBA 2K24 Summer League winds down, we look at performances from former Tennessee Volunteers over the week-plus.

After play concluded on Sunday, all that remains in the 2023 Las Vegas NBA 2K24 Summer League is the championship game on Monday between the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers. With both of these teams Vol-less, all Tennessee players’ Summer League season has ended. We will look at what each of them did across the ten days.

Jaden Springer was held out of the Philadelphia 76ers’ final game on Sunday, but he shined throughout the tournament. He finished averaging 22.3 points per game, good for fifth overall in the Summer League and third overall among players having played at least three games. He was efficient, shooting 48.8% from the field.

Kennedy Chandler could only save the Nets in overtime once, as the Nets fell in the playoffs to the Cavaliers on Sunday in overtime. He scored 11 points and added seven assists. In his five games in Summer League, he scored an even 14 points per game with 5.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

Julian Phillips started three of the four games he played for the Bulls. He was very efficient, shooting over 50% from the field and over 43% from three, averaging 8.8 points per game.

Jordan Bowden scored six points in the Clippers’ one-point loss on Sunday against their Los Angeles foes. He averaged nine points per game in three contests. He shot 50% from the field and a strong 38.5% from 3-point territory.

Kyle Alexander scored eight points for the Washington Wizards on Saturday to bring his average up to 6.6 points per game in five Summer League contests. He shot 63% from the field and an even 50% from three.

Uros Plavsic and Yves Pons were not a part of the Hawks’ loss on Sunday. They still saw the floor in a few contests previously, with Plavsic displaying a new part of his game from the perimeter. The Serbian averaged 5.5 points per game in two contests, going 1-for-3 from three. As for Pons, he scored just two total points in two games.

Keon Johnson was unable to showcase his skills this summer due to injury. He dislocated his finger in the Blazers’ first Summer League contest and did not return to play for the rest of the tournament.
