REACTION: Tennessee Holds No. 3 Seed in Selection Committee's Top 16 Reveal

The Selection Committee gave Tennessee little hope for one seed with Selection Sunday approaching.

Right before Tennessee tipped off against Kentucky on CBS, the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee revealed that Tennessee is currently a three-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The committee revealed that Tennessee was the number nine overall seed or the highest three-seed. The Vols had some hope for a two-seed after the win over the number one overall seed in Alabama on Wednesday but ultimately fell behind two Big 12 teams in Baylor and Texas and two Pac 12 teams in UCLA and Arizona.

The Vols will have plenty of opportunities to jump some of the teams on the two line as they still have four quad-one opportunities. That doesn't include any games the Vols would play in the SEC Tournament. Tennessee currently sits at 6-2 in quad one, but you must imagine that the four losses against quad two keep the Vols off of the two-line right now.

Tennessee was in the Midwest Region with Houston, Texas, and Xavier. The Midwest Regional takes place this year in Kansas City, MO, so not a bad region to be in geographically for Tennessee fans looking to travel. It should also be of note that being the current nine overall seed would allow Tennessee to play in the closest sub-regional, which would be in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Overall, the Vols have a handful of games to get up to that two line even without anyone from that two line suffering bad losses. With six losses, getting a one seed is probably out of the question without mass chaos, but with the opportunities that the Vols have left, you never really know.
