In this story:

The University of Tennessee is in for a big week. They have twelve official visitors coming in this weekend, and as if that weren't enough, 2024 four-star athlete Boo Carter is on campus ahead of his Saturday commitment. To top it all off, Dale Dowden of VolReport.com has reported that 2025 five-star athlete Cameron Sparks is currently on campus.

This is Sparks's fifth time on campus, the second in 2023. The Vols were his first offer, and have maintained contact with the Chattanooga native. Alabama and Georgia have crept into the mix recently, but Tennessee has held strong as the favorite for his services. Sparks has kept his recruitment close to the vest, something that will change as he ages and many begin to realize the talent he is. I evaluated him in January and am intrigued by his potential on both sides of the football.

"Playing safety is about reading what's in front of you, especially if you cross-train. Sparks plays as a field-side safety, boundary-side safety, nickel corner, deep thirds safety, overhang linebacker, and either safety spot in Cover 2. That's a lot to handle for an underclassman, but Sparks understands what is asked of him. He reads his keys well and transitions seamlessly between positions, allowing Baylor to run diverse defensive concepts. He doesn't fly off the ball at the first thing he sees. Sparks moves patiently, playing his responsibility and not getting over-zealous. He maintains technical refinement, another integral part of slow-playing the initial movements. When Sparks decides to attack, his athleticism jumps off the screen. The 6-3 and 210-pound missile charges forward, quickly shifting momentum from his heels through the front of his hips."
