Commitment Day Preview: Final Thoughts On George MacIntyre

In this story:
Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre has been one of the most highlighted names in Tennessee recruiting history. That's not an exaggeration - the Nashville area native has been the No. 1 prospect on Tennessee's recruiting board for almost a year. The coaching staff has invested a lot of time and resources into him, and today is the day.
MacIntyre will announce his college commitment at 9:30 AM EST at Brentwood Academy. He's deciding between Alabama and Tennessee, two storied SEC programs that compete against each other for national relevance. MacIntyre had a close relationship with Alabama head coach Nick Saban leading up to his decision, but Saban's sudden retirement swung the momentum of this recruitment in the Vols' favor.
However, MacIntyre had been trending toward Tennessee for a long time. He has close relationships with Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and offensive coordinator Joey Halzle. In previous interviews, MacIntyre has mentioned the home-state pull and fanbase as driving factors in his choice. With where things sit today, we feel comfortable in logging a prediction for MacIntyre to land with Tennessee later this morning. He would be the sixth commit for the Vols in the 2025 recruiting class and the third on the offensive side of the football. Tennessee's attention will be pointed toward Brentwood Academy earlier this morning.
