Four-Star OT Daniel Calhoun Commits To Georgia Over Litany of SEC Suitors

2024 four-star offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun pledged his services to the in-state Georgia Bulldogs on Wednesday over the Tennessee Volunteers and others.

Four-star offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun (Marietta, Ga.) is one of the largest human beings you'll ever see. The 6-6.5, 350-pound giant has been a hot topic in recruiting circles for years, with SEC programs naturally gravitating to him. Calhoun has kept things relatively quiet in a high-profile recruitment, but July 5 was his decision day. The finalists were Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas.

Calhoun officially visited each program this summer and enjoyed each stop. He's visited Tennessee more than any other program and has strong relationships with head coach Josh Heupel and offensive line coach Glen Elarbee. Ultimately, the in-state draw of the Georgia Bulldogs was too much to overcome, and Calhoun made things official on Wednesday. He becomes the second high-profile offensive lineman to pledge to Georgia in the past two days.

While Tennessee didn't initially win in this battle, they will continue recruiting Calhoun until he signs a letter of intent. They don't have a 2024 tackle committed that could slide in and compete for snaps when they step on campus. Calhoun fits that profile, and with the time and energy Tennessee has already invested, it makes sense that they will continue to be active in this one.
