4-star EDGE Jordan Ross Commits To Tennessee Over Alabama, Others

In this story:
Four-star edge rusher Jordan Ross saw many twists and turns in his recruitment. Amid a rash of inconsistency from other programs recruiting him, Tennessee ensured that they maintained a strong interest from start to finish. They have wanted him to become a part of this class for a while, and they never wavered. That paid off Monday, as Ross chose the Vols over three other SEC suitors.
The prized Alabama product also considered Alabama, Florida, and Texas, but things always pointed back to Knoxville, Tennessee. He was their No. 1 uncommitted target on the defensive line, and they plan to have early snaps available to him. The 6-5, 225-pound standout makes plays with his athleticism and physical dominance, often overwhelming tackles at the point of attack.
There are a ton of check marks on his physical evaluation. Ross's ceiling as a pass rusher off the edge rivals that of anyone else in this class. It's now Tennessee's job to see that he lives up to that potential. He's got NFL traits in an NFL body and has progressed each year of his high school career. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner usually gets evaluations like this to shine in college, and it will be interesting to see how his career unfolds on Rocky Top.
