Keon Young Talks Recent Offer From Tennessee

In this story:
The Tennessee Volunteers have been in contact with some 2025 recruits as of late. One of the recruits that would fall under that category is Keon Young. Young is a 2025 safety from Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida. He measures in at around 6'0 and 170 pounds and holds multiple D1 offers and interests from schools across the country. One school in particular is Tennessee.
Tennessee offered the Lakeland safety back on October 11th, and Young took the time to speak with Volunteer Country shortly after. The young prospect went on to talk about the importance of his Tennessee offer by saying, "It means a lot because, first, it's a very successful program and well-run program with a great history. Second, it's an SEC school, and everybody knows that is where the best of the best plays. Third, it's Tennessee!"
The 2025 safety also mentioned Tennessee defensive coordinator Tim Banks and the fact that he had a conversation with him. The Florida high school football star states, "It was a great conversation. We got a couple of laughs in, and I got to see the humor side of Coach Banks because I love football, and it's a serious game, but there has to be room for fun as well." He stated, "I feel like they really want me," when talking about Tennessee offering him as an underclassman.
He also mentioned that he would like to take a visit to see the Tennessee atmosphere. When talking specifically about his position group and the opportunities at Tennessee to succeed, he noted, "They play with five defensive backs, which means more opportunity."
Tennessee is the most recent offer in Keon Young's recruitment, but not the first. Young has offers from many schools, including Colorado, Southern California, Oregon, West Virginia, and many more. Tennessee has some heavy competition in this recruitment, and it will be interesting to see if they can build a relationship and stay steady in the Lakeland high school prospect's recruitment.
