Marcus Goree Shares Insight Into Relationship With Tennessee

In this story:
Last Friday, Bradley Central played against their rival school, Cleveland, in a slugfest in which Bradley ultimately won. In this game, two Tennessee commits played together. One of those players was four-star safety Marcus Goree Jr.
Goree is a safety from Cleveland, Tennessee, who measures in at around 6-1 and 170 pounds and is committed to head coach Josh Heupel to play football at the University of Tennessee. Volunteer Country spoke with him about his recruitment and commitment to the Vols after his big win.
“I’m feeling good. We just got a win against our cross-town rivals, but you know we got to push that to the side quick because we play next Thursday for the district championship,” Goree stated. He then details what stood out about Tennessee by saying, “How close it is to home, the energy from the coaching staff, the energy from the fans—you know, it just feels like family up there.”
The young safety has been on a visit to Tennessee multiple times. He also mentions taking another visit to see the Volunteers shortly. “I’m going back up there against Georgia. I was up there last week when they played Texas A&M. I had fun up there. I went back-to-back weeks, as a matter of fact, when they played South Carolina before the bye week, so yeah. I always go up there and have fun with all of my bros.”
When asked what about the coaching staff pulled him to Tennessee, Goree responded, “Just the energy from Coach [Willie] Martinez and the recruiting assistants calling me every day, and then I went up there and got an offer from Tennessee for camping, and Martinez told me right after the camp 'I want to make you a first-round draft pick.'”
