Grad Transfer Linebacker Would Add Much Needed Depth for the Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are making a move to bring in Arizona graduate transfer linebacker Tony Fields II.
Fields is a three-year starter for the Wildcats and has racked up 287 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and a pair of interceptions during his time in Arizona.
Texas head coach Tom Herman has expressed some concerns about his team's depth at linebacker since the end of last season and many believed the Longhorns were looking to potentially make a move in the grad transfer market. When an an experienced, productive player like Fields came on the market, it didn't take long for Texas to extend an offer.
The Longhorns look set on the outside rush or "JACK" position with Joseph Ossai locked in as the starter and Byron Vaughns Reese Leitao and Prince Dorbah all providing depth behind him.
The other two spots look a little more fluid. Juwan Mitchell, Ayodele Adeoye, Cort Jaquess and Jaylan Ford will be fighting for time at middle linebacker.
DeMarvion Overshown is moving down from defensive back to battle David Gbenda and Marcus Tilman Jr. for a shot at starting at the will spot.
Fields has the most experience on the inside and was slated to be one of the Wildcats' starters in their 3-4 scheme going into the season before making the decision to transfer, though he could potentially help out at the will spot should he be asked to do so as well.
