OFFICIAL: 4-Star CB Santana Wilson Signs With Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns have officially signed four-star cornerback Santana Wilson.

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns have officially signed one of the best cornerbacks in the 2024 class after Desert Mountain's (Scottsdale, Ariz.) Santana Wilson put pen to paper during the early signing period on Wednesday.

Wilson was pursed by other teams like Arizona State and Washington, making official visits with both, but the lure of the Longhorns proved to be irresistible.

This past season, Wilson posted 32 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble and three interceptions.

The Longhorns already have a bright future at cornerback with Malik Muhammad and Terrance Brook, and the signing of Wilson now adds to this excitement.

“When I came out I just got the real family feeling and I knew this was the place I can call home,” Wilson told On3 Sports. “Then on top of that the facility and just the way everyone is always together and caring for one another."

Wilson pointed out Longhorns defensive backs coach Terry Joseph as a primary reason he chose Texas.

“Definitely Terry Joseph," Wilson told On3. "I mean it’s really everyone on the defensive staff because my dad knows everyone up here and I know they’re gonna take care of me. TJ basically brought me under his wing. Press man corner. Just like how they move right now. They love press man one on one matchups and I’m all about that.”

The Longhorns boast some major talent in the secondary in this recruiting class with Wilson and Kobe Black, as both will look to carve out roles for the Texas defense as early as next season.
