Tom Herman gave an injury update on both safety Caden Sterns and running back Jordan Whittington during his Monday press conference.

Though both players are progressing, it looks like the Longhorns will have to go without them for at least another week.

The Texas coach called his status a "week-to-week deal".

Sterns was a Freshman All American last year, an All-Big 12 selection and the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year. He is also widely regarded as one of the team's best tacklers in the secondary, something they have been in dire need of the past few weeks.

"I would say this week is probably pretty questionable unless he takes a marked turn for the better, but optimistic that we're probably only about a week away with him," Herman said.
